A Mobile Dock Plate Can Increase Warehouse Productivity

Mobile Dock Plate / Mobile Dock Board / Steel Dock Board / Aluminum Dock Board with Welded Curbs / Aluminum Dock Board with Bolt-On Curbs

Increase the productivity and safety of your warehouse operations with a Copperloy aluminum mobile dock plate. In order to serve your industry properly, you first need to know the difference between dock plates and dock boards.

Both are very similar in style, however, they serve different purposes. Both are designed to compensate for height differences between dock and truck beds. Both provide a secure, smooth, and safe transition from the tractor-trailer to the dock area for material transportation applications. The differences between them come down to capacities and equipment you can use with them.

Here you can see the difference between a dock board and a dock plate. The dock board has curbs, where the dock plate does not.

Mobile Dock Plate

We offer our dock plates in aluminum and steel construction.

Our aluminum dock plate is designed for light-duty applications with low to medium volume when using hand carts, pallet trucks, and dollies only. They are not for forklift or fork truck use. An aluminum dock plate is a money-saving alternative to dock boards to bridge the gap between your loading dock and the delivery truck. Copperloy’s aluminum dock plates are available in 3/8″ and 1/2″ aluminum treadplates. The standard features of the aluminum construction dock plate include:

  • Constructed of 3/8″ or  ½” aluminum non-skid treadplate with beveled edges
  • Nylon Lift Straps and handholds on each side
  • 11-Inch Lip with beveled edges slightly bent to 11 degrees
  • Steel Bolt-On Locking Legs for OSHA compliance
  • Capacities between 1,000 – 12,500 pounds

Optional features of the aluminum construction dock plate include:

  • 14-Inch Lip for refrigerated trailers

Our steel dock plates offer higher load capacity limits and can accommodate forklift trucks. Like our aluminum dock plate, these will also bridge the gap between your loading dock and the delivery truck. The standard features of the steel construction dock plate include:

  • Constructed of ½” steel non-skid treadplate with beveled edges
  • One-piece lifting chain
  • 11-Inch lip slightly bent to 11 degrees
  • Steel Bolt-On Locking Legs for OSHA compliance
  • Widths of 60” and 72”
  • Lengths between 24”-72”
  • Capacities between 1,000 – 14,000 pounds

Optional features of the steel construction dock plate include:

  • 14-Inch lip for refrigerated trailers

Both options come curbless allowing for irregular turns when using pallet jacks. Additionally, both of these mobile dock plate options will help increase the efficiency and safety of the daily process of your loading and unloading operations.
