Why Choose a Copperloy Forklift Ramp?
When you choose Copperloy, you receive forklift ramps with the highest standards of quality, strength, and versatility in the United States. Copperloy’s ramps for forklifts also improve efficiency and safety while maximizing space. Our forklift dock ramps feature a one-cylinder design, so they apply much less pressure than standard yard ramps. This design also offers a variety of other benefits:
Easier operation – The hydraulic pump’s external location provides convenient access to simplify operation.
Faster raise times – Copperloy ramps raise two and a half times faster than ramps featuring two-cylinder design.
Less wear and tear – Rotation is focused on our ramp’s position sleeve rather than the ramp’s connection, so it reduces overall wear and tear.
Greater stability – Our ramps are much less likely to tip thanks to the centrally-located cylinder.
Forklift ramp safety is also at the forefront of our entire manufacturing process. There are many risks and hazards involved with operating forklifts on ramps, and OSHA has specific laws and regulations for manufactures to adhere to. OSHA compliance at your facility begins with selecting the right manufacturer and product. As a leading manufacturer of loading dock equipment, we develop quality forklift ramps for containers and trucks that satisfy all of these requirements and keep forklift operators safe.
Forklift Ramp Features & Specifications
Forklift Ramp Design
Our forklift loading ramps are made from steel or aluminum, and they feature steel grating for reliable traction to ensure worker safety. Whether you buy used or new, our forklift loading ramps will provide the convenience you need to handle loads more efficiently at your facility’s loading dock.
Forklift Ramp Specifications
You have a choice of widths between 70, 84 or 96 inches, and capacities between 16,000 and 35,000 lbs. On our 30-foot forklift trailer ramps, the height range is between 38 and 60 inches.
Forklift Ramp Safety Features
8-Foot Level Off
Forklift access is a top priority when designing a ramp for forklifts. So, we design each forklift curb ramp with an 8-foot level off to make forklift access safer and easier.
Low End Plate
We design each forklift dock ramp with an endplate that sits lower than a forklift’s wheelbase. As a result, the forklift’s front wheels can reach the deck grating without having the back wheels leave the ground. This also smooths out any bumps when loading and unloading trucks and creates easier ground-level entry.
This lip rests on the dock platform, floor, or truck carrier body. Our ramps also feature 8-foot safety chains to prevent the ramp from pulling away from the dock.
Our forklift dock ramp features a 6″ safety curb, so it can prevent accidental runoff for forklifts. The hollow-section design and box-frame construction also decrease the stress of heavier loads and cargo breakout.
Forklift Ramp Mobility Features
The single-acting hydraulic pump requires half the usual effort to raise a Copperloy forklift dock ramp in comparison to competing yard ramp equipment. Also, the pump’s external location makes operating the ramp much easier while protecting the pump from wear and tear. Additionally, the pump handle can be easily stored away when not in use.
18-Inch Pneumatic Tires
Solid tires are a staple of Copperloy stainless steel loading ramps, as they require much less maintenance than air-filled tires. Pneumatic tires do not require refilling and feature lubricated bearings, so they are essentially maintenance-free.
The positioning sleeve allows for 180 degrees of ramp maneuverability, so you can save time and maintain efficiency. The fork slides in the sleeve, allowing the forklift to easily move the yard ramp. However, this sleeve is not designed for long-distance towing.
The towbar attaches to the lower end of the ramp and allows operators to tow the ramp short distances at a max speed of 5-mph. This feature is not designed for over-the-road towing.

You can determine the capacity of the forklift dock ramp needed by adding together the total weight of the fork truck and the max load the fork truck carries. Our standard capacities are 16,000 lbs. and 20,000 lbs. Larger capacities are available.
What are the sizes of the curbs on the forklift ramps?
The curbs on the forklift dock ramp are 4″ wide and 7″ high.
How fast can I get a forklift ramp?
We stock our 16k and 20k ramp models, which can be ready within a few days. Depending on other models, it can be one to three weeks.
Why are standard forklift service ramps 84″ wide?
Portable forklift ramps are 84″ wide because that way we can guarantee the ramp will fit into the back of a trailer.
What is the useable width of a forklift dock ramp?
The usable width on a mobile yard ramp is 76″ in between the curbs.
Why should I purchase a Copperloy yard ramp vs. a competitor’s ramp?
Copperloy ramps are made in the USA in Twinsburg, Ohio. The undercarriage of the mobile ramp is maintenance-free. The ramp only has one cylinder and one hose from the cylinder to the pump.
The pump is on the outside of the ramp, which makes it easily accessible. Copperloy uses A572-50 high-strength steel on all mobile ramps. Above all, we care you get the correct product to deliver safe and efficient results for your loading and unloading needs.
If your facility does not have a loading dock or you simply need to expand capacity, a portable forklift ramp is the ideal solution. Our ramps allow forklift operators to load and unload semi-trailers in a safe and productive manner. We can also design custom dock ramps to meet your unique specifications and requirements.
