Why Choose a Copperloy Forklift Dock Ramp?
When you choose Copperloy loading dock equipment, you receive ramps with the highest standards of quality, strength, and versatility in the United States. Our portable loading dock ramps and forklift dock ramps also offer various advantages:
- Portable loading ramps can be linked to create larger portable loading docks.
- Our ramps feature steel legs, steel deck grating, two movable curb sections, and lift sleeves for safer and more efficient forklift traversal.
- Operators can install edge-of-dock levelers on any side of the platform, so our ramps offer functionality with any other type of equipment or vehicle.
- Steel deck grating design includes space for water and debris to pass through, so it does not require regular maintenance.
Copperloy ramps also improve efficiency and safety while maximizing space. Our forklift dock ramp features a one-cylinder design, so it applies markedly less pressure than other ramps in the industry. This design also offers a variety of other benefits:
- Easier operation – The hydraulic pump’s external location provides convenient access to simplify operation.
- Faster raise times – Copperloy ramps raise two and a half times faster than ramps featuring two-cylinder design.
- Less wear and tear – Rotation is focused on our ramp’s position sleeve rather than the ramp’s connection, so it reduces overall wear and tear.
- Greater stability – Our ramps are much less likely to tip thanks to the centrally-located cylinder.

Forklift Dock Ramp Key Features
8-Foot Level Off
Forklift access is a top priority when designing a forklift dock ramp. So, we design our ramps with an 8-foot level off to make forklift access safer and easier.
15-Inch Lip
This lip rests on the dock platform, floor, or truck carrier body. Our ramps also feature 8-foot safety chains to prevent the ramp from pulling away from the dock.
Hydraulic Pump
The single-acting hydraulic pump requires half the usual effort to raise a Copperloy forklift dock ramp in comparison to competing ramp equipment. Also, the pump’s external location makes operating the ramp much easier while protecting the pump from wear and tear. Additionally, the pump handle can be easily stored away when not in use.
Low End Plate
We design each forklift dock ramp with an endplate that sits lower than a forklift’s wheelbase. As a result, the forklift’s front wheels can reach the deck grating without having the back wheels leave the ground. This also smooths out any bumps when loading and unloading trucks and creates easier ground-level entry.
Forklift Dock Ramp Deck Grating
We manufacture our forklift ramp deck grating with electro-forged, serrated steel for enhanced strength. The grating also features 1/4″ to 3/4″ bars and a 1″ spacing between. As a result, rain, snow, and other debris pass through, ensuring perfect traction in all weather conditions
18-Inch Solid/Pneumatic Tires
Solid tires are a staple of Copperloy ramps, as they require much less maintenance than air-filled tires. Pneumatic tires do not require refilling and feature lubricated bearings, so they essentially maintenance-free.
Forklift Dock Ramp Positioning Sleeve
The positioning sleeve allows for 180 degrees of ramp maneuverability, so you can save time and maintain efficiency. The fork slides in the sleeve, allowing the forklift to easily move the yard ramp. However, this sleeve is not designed for long-distance towing.
Towbar
The towbar attaches to the lower end of the ramp and allows operators to tow the ramp short distances at a max speed of 5-mph. This feature is not designed for over-the-road towing.
Platform Curbs
Our forklift dock ramp features a 6″ safety curb, so it can prevent accidental runoff for forklifts. The hollow-section design and box-frame construction also decrease the stress of heavier loads and cargo breakout.
Custom Forklift Dock Ramp Options
In addition to the features listed above, Copperloy can custom design dock ramps for any application. Our staff combines countless years of experience in design and manufacturing, so we can meet the unique needs of any client.
Forklift Dock Ramp FAQs
What is the most common forklift dock ramp?
Every freight-loading operation has its own set of unique aspects, so choosing the best ramp is specific to every customer’s application. Most notably, we need to know the weight of what you will be frequently loading and unloading. This will allow us to determine the proper capacity for your ramp.
What is the width of a Copperloy forklift dock ramp?
The standards widths for your forklift dock ramps are 70″, 84″ and 96″. However, we can provide custom widths for specific application requirements upon customer request.
How long are Copperloy forklift dock ramps?
The standard length of our ramps is 36′ with an eight-foot level off at the top, but we can also add more length if need be.
What is the function of the ramp’s eight-foot level off?
The level off is designed to make forklift access to trailers safer and easier by helping the forklifts level for pallets at the truck’s opening.
What is the difference between a towbar and a positioning sleeve?
The sleeve makes moving and repositioning the ramp quicker and easier while the towbar allows operators to tow the ramp short distances around your facility.
What kind of tires do the forklift dock ramps have?
All Copperloy ramps feature 18″ solid tires. These tires do not need to be refilled, so they are much easier to maintain than air-filled tires.
