Steel Loading Ramps for Trailers
America’s Number One Loading Ramp Manufacturer
Looking for heavy-duty loading equipment for your facility? Copperloy steel loading ramps for trailers are the ideal solution for increasing efficiency. In fact, Copperloy is America’s leading manufacturer of loading dock equipment. Most notably, Copperloy ramps offer higher safety standards and easier operation than equipment from other manufacturers.
For over 70 years, Copperloy has been developing the highest quality dock ramps and loading dock equipment solutions. We equip our team of expert engineers with advanced manufacturing equipment, so we can give our clients the best products for their applications. As a result, Copperloy maintains its position as a leader in the design and manufacturing of loading ramps.
Here at Copperloy, we prioritize safety in the design of our steel loading ramps for trailers. Loading with forklifts presents a litany of potential safety hazards, so we design our ramps to OSHA‘s exact safety standards. As a result, Copperloy ramps ensure that forklift and ramp operators are safe at work. In addition, this helps our clients maintain OSHA compliance for their facilities.
Why Choose Copperloy Steel Loading Ramps for Trailers?
When you choose Copperloy steel loading ramps for trailers, you receive equipment with exceptional durability and efficiency manufactured by an industry-leading company. Copperloy ramps also offer low maintenance needs and superior safety standards while maximizing your floor space.
Most importantly, Copperloy loading ramps for trailers have a unique one-cylinder design. So, raising the ramp requires much less pressure in comparison to other loading ramp equipment. Our one-cylinder design also offers many other benefits:
Simple operation – The hydraulic pump is one the exterior of the ramp, so operation is quick and easy.
Quick raise times – Our ramps raise two and half times quicker than equipment from competing manufacturers.
Wear and tear prevention – Rotation is centered on the loading ramp’s positioning sleeve instead of the connection, so it naturally compensates for wear and tear.
Superior balance and stability – The centrally-located cylinder significantly improves ramp stability and prevents tipping.
Steel Loading Ramp Features
8-Foot Level Off
Forklift accessibility is a central advantage of choosing Copperloy loading dock ramps. So, we have designed our trailer ramps with an 8-foot level off, ensuring loading tasks are smoother and safer for forklift operators.
15-Inch Lip
The 15-inch lip feature will rest on the dock platform, floor, of trailer body. This feature also functions well with our included 8-foot safety chains, which prevent the ramp from pulling away from the trailer.
Hydraulic Pump
Our steel loading ramps for trailers feature a single-acting hydraulic pump, located on the exterior for easy operation and protection from wear and tear. This pump requires half the effort to operate relative to other loading ramp lifting mechanisms. It can also be stored away when not in use.
Low End Plate
Our ramp’s low end plate sits lower than a forklift’s wheelbase, so the front wheels can reach the deck grating without the back wheels leaving the ground. As a result, traveling up and down ramps is much smoother with improved ground-level access.
Steel Deck Grating
We design our ramp’s steel deck grating with electro-forged, serrated steel for superior durability. This grating has 1/4″ to 3/4″ bars and a 1″ spacing between, so rain, snow, and other debris can slip through easily. As a result, the ramp maintains high traction even during rough weather conditions.
18-Inch Solid Tires
We design our ramps with solid tires because they need much less maintenance than air-filled tires. Our tires feature lubricated bearings and do not need to be refilled, so they are essentially maintenance-free.
Positioning Sleeve
Our ramp’s positioning sleeve provides operators with 180 degrees of maneuverability, so moving your ramps between loading tasks has never been easier. Simply slide the fork into the sleeve and reposition the ramp for the next task.
* This feature is not designed for over-the-road, long-distance towing.
Towbar
The towbar also gives Copperloy ramps much more maneuverability. This feature allows operators to tow the ramp short distances at a maximum speed of 5-mph. This feature is also not designed for over-the-road towing.

Safety Curbs
The 6-inch safety curb is another core feature of Copperloy loading ramps. This curb prevents runoff for forklifts, increasing safety for forklift operators. Our unique box-frame construction and hollow-section design also reduce stress for heavy loads and cargo breakout.
Custom Features for Steel Loading Ramps for Trailers
In addition to our other ramp features, we can custom manufacture our ramps for unique application requirements. Copperloy offers unparalleled experience in yard ramp design, so we can readily meet all your loading equipment needs.
Steel Loading Ramps for Trailers FAQs
What is the most common loading ramp?
Every facility has its own series of application requirements, so selecting the ideal ramp is unique to every customer. Most importantly, we need to know the typical weight you will be loading and unloading. This will give us a better idea of which ramp capacity you need.
What is the width of a Copperloy steel loading ramp?
The standards widths for your steel loading ramps are 70″, 84″ and 96″. However, we can create custom widths for your specific application requirements upon request.
How long are Copperloy steel loading ramps for trailers?
The standard length of our ramps is 36′ with an eight-foot level off at the top, but we can also create ramps with more length if needed.
What is the function of the ramp’s eight-foot level off?
The level off makes forklift accessibility and traversal easier and safer, helping keep forklifts level for pallets at the trailer’s opening.
What is the difference between a towbar and a positioning sleeve?
The positioning sleeve is designed to make repositioning the ramp easier while the towbar gives operators the ability to move the ramp short distances through the facility at a max speed of 5 mph.
What kind of tires do the steel loading ramps have?
All Copperloy loading ramps come with 18-inch solid tires. These tires do not require refilling, so they are much easier to maintain than air-filled tires.
